Our tulips will start blooming around April 17 2024 & finish some time close to May 25 2024. With 850+ kinds passing thru our doors, We expect peak color to be around May 5 2024. There will be excellent color before and after this date. Each Variety of tulip normally last between 3 to 14 days
Important dates:
Tulip Time is May 4 - May 11 2024.
We will be open during Tulip Time 2024 from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm with the gardens closing at 6:00 pm ***subject to traffic***
We are on Eastern Standard Time.
With 6 Million tulips & 850 Kinds planted here. Many kind of tulips start out only being seen at Veldheer's & the Netherlands grower. Veldheer's is a must
to visit when in southern Michigan
Vern Veldheer was born Sept 25 1925
He started Veldheer's Inc. with 100 red tulip and 300 white tulips in 1947 post WWII. He still works 60+ hours a week. He life has been an inspiration to many in our community, staff, family, & myself.
